Introducing: Apple Pay on FreshBooks

Get paid even faster with Apple Pay—now available for U.S.-based customers.

Apple Pay

Getting paid should be the easiest part of running a business, but that’s not always the case. You’ve been there: Chasing clients for checks, making bank runs, manually updating credit card information. After a while, the reward starts to feel like a chore.

To help reduce the work for you and your client, FreshBooks now supports Apple Pay for our U.S.-based customers.

What Is Apple Pay?

Apple Pay is a fast, easy, and secure payment method for your clients. Plus, it’s already set up on your account!

How Does Apple Pay Work?

The Apple Pay button automatically appears on any invoices with FreshBooks Payments or Stripe enabled. If your clients already have Apple Pay set up on their Apple devices, they’ll be able to pay you right away.

On iPhone

On an iPhone, your clients will see the Apple Pay button at the bottom of their invoice. Here’s what it looks like on iPhone:

Then all they have to do is tap the button and confirm the payment with Touch ID.

On Safari

Using the Safari browser on desktop, the Apple Pay button appears at the top of the invoice. Here’s what it looks like on Safari:

Your client can simply click that button and continue to authorize the payment from the Touch Bar on their MacBook, iPhone, or Apple Watch.

Do I Need to Set Anything up to Use Apple Pay?

If you already accept credit cards online through FreshBooks Payments or Stripe, you’re good to go! If you don’t, here’s how.

What Type of Device Does My Client Need to Use Apple Pay?

Your client needs to open your invoice on an iPhone running iOS 10+, or through the Safari browser on a MacBook running macOS Sierra 10.12+. If they are paying from their MacBook, they’ll need to either use the Touch Bar, iPhone, or Apple Watch to authorize the payment via Touch ID.

What Countries Does Apple Pay Work In?

Right now, only U.S.-based FreshBooks customers can use Apple Pay, but stay tuned for more supported countries!
